I am still at a loss for words and find it difficult to believe a friend who always made it a point to call or meet me on every trip of his to Chennai in the last few years will not make one more trip , one more call or one have one more drink with us.

I don't know where to start in 1964-65 or in 2015 as the memories flash past in random order. The drink Naren had with me at the Madras club last Feb and the drink we had an hour later with Rags at the Madras boat club which is the last one we will have had with Naren. The conversation was on the miraculous recovery he had made from the stroke a month ago and the clean chit he got from the Doctors in Chennai when he went for a general health check. He said in his inimitable style 'Dai NK this is a wake up call for me da, perhaps for all of us." We decided to meet as often as possible but that was not to be.
All I can say that these memories wont fade but hope time heals the hurt especially for the family.
