My interactions with Naren started a couple of decades back while working with A F Fergusons in Chennai. There was a period of silence in between when the 2 of us had to take different paths in life due to career constraints. And in 2008 I started regrouping the former AFF professionals and that was when we got reconnected. In 2012 when Naren was looking for a person to head the operations in Chennai, he had long discussions with me and one comment I still remember which highlights his balance between Human and business priorities and I quote..."Murali, if I don't take you on board our friendship should not go..." He finally took the decision of taking me on to head the operations of Escribe in Chennai. That was the start of a glorious business relationship. During his recent visit to Chennai in Feb 2015, he went in for a master health checkup from a leading hospital in Chennai. Though nervous while undergoing the tests, but when he got the health report, he came to me smiling and said and I quote "Murali, doctors have said that all parameters are normal and I will for a very long time". I could see the glow in his face. And this sudden traumatic event has put us all in vaccum it will take a long long time to recover, though not completely. May his soul rest in peace. Murali
